Rock City Falls Vol. Fire Dept
Milton Eagles
Our Mission
To promote a safe environment for all areas protected by the Milton Fire District No. 1.
To respond to fire, medical and other emergencies and to provide non-emergency services to public benefit.
Our History
RCFFD originally started in 1936 as a bucket brigade. The area was supposed to be jointly protected by the larger cities of Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa, but they found it burdensome to put out fires in Rock City Falls.
In 1940, the fire department was created with 25 charter members. The department was built on the site of an old stone quarry next to the present-day Cottrell Paper Company.
All department historical records, including photos and articles, were destroyed by fire in 1984, The firehouse was rebuilt in 1984 where it sits at its current location.
The original 1940 Ford firetruck is still housed today at Geyser station.
